About Me
Michelle Nigl-Chang, OTR/L
Michelle has been practicing occupational therapy since graduating from the University of Puget Sound in 2001. She spent the first half of her career in pediatric acute care at OHSU/Doernbecher Children's Hospital where she treated a variety of patients, performed splinting, and helped to start the special needs car seat program. Since 2013 Michelle has been in pediatric private practice, where she has supported children and their families across the spectrum. Michelle has advanced training in pediatric splinting, feeding using the Get Permission Approach®, child development and reflex integration, fine motor and visual skill building, Handwriting Without Tears® and the Size Matters Handwriting Program®, Therapeutic Listening®, and the Interoception curriculum®. Michelle is currently in process of becoming a certified ADHD professional (ADHD-RSP).

Michelle values the connection made with both the child and the child's caregivers. This allows for a rapport to be built that deepens the level of communication and increases the growth potential of the client. Critical to her success, and ultimately that of her client's, she credits her ties to the community and collaboration with other professionals. Michelle's goal is to help foster balance, growth, confidence, and joy in the child's life.

In her spare time Michelle enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter, their two dogs, and young cat. You might also find her in her kitchen baking or off on a camping adventure.
